New roads: easier access to Kesztölc

There are two access roads to Kesztölc in Komárom-Esztergom County. One of them has now been renewed over two kilometres, making life considerably easier for the inhabitants of the settlement at the south-western foot of the Pilis Mountains.

The project is part of a larger county development: Magyar Közút Nonprofit Zrt. began renovating 5.7 kilometres of public roads in the spring, with the help of a non-repayable EU grant of HUF 1.196 billion. The longest continuous renovation affected Kesztölc, which was carried out by SWIETELSKY Magyarország Kft.

As Attila Farkas, head of construction explained to our paper: the company was responsible for reinforcing the local road structure on the marked sections of the 11126 j. road, while milling and asphalting were carried out on the entire two-kilometre section. In addition, embankments and bus barriers were constructed.

Stormwater drainage was also part of the project: trenches were dug and culverts were installed in the road connections by SWIETELSKY.

The Patakhids are also more stable

There are two stream bridges on the road section, which have also been widened and renovated.

During the construction, it was discovered that the bridge abutment of the Kesztölc stream on the settlement boundary was supported by a substructure with inadequate bearing capacity, which made it necessary to reinforce it. Due to the high ground water, grouting technology was used to inject a water-cement mixture into the ground. The construction of the bridge deck could then begin.

Work started in March 2023 and was completed on 20 October by SWIETELSKY.
