Bács-Kiskun's newest expressway section completed three months ahead of schedule
We recently reported significant progress in the comprehensive project involving the M44 section between Lakitelek and Szentkirály. On 19 December, the 2.8-kilometre-long Szentkirály bypass, built on a new route, which was one of the two-lane road developments related to the investment. At the same time, the general contractor Duna NRG Zrt. has also completed the 4.6-kilometre four-lane section of the M44 motorway.
According to our newspaper, the Lakitelek-Szentkirály section of the Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium project is now beyond the technical handover stage. Accordingly, our photographers were able to capture the finished state in the latest gallery.
The complex road project also included a complex rest area and a grade-separated junction at the junction of the 4623 and the M44. According to information received by magyarepitok.hu, a smart lighting system has been installed in the former: the candelabras in the rest area switch on to maximum brightness when vehicles arrive and then switch back to reduced brightness when they leave.
Another interesting feature of the project for the road-building industry is the placement of a monument on each side of the complex, commemorating the eponym of the complex, László Mosonyi Mosonyi.
The engineer was one of Hungary's leading civil engineering experts, extremely successful and internationally recognised career, he also headed the management of Duna Aszfalt Zrt., among other things.
In addition to all this, another element worth highlighting about the four-lane road between Lakitelek and Szentkirály is that the technical handover of the project was successfully completed three months ahead of schedule, on 12 December. All this was achieved despite the fact that the rains in October and November made it difficult to complete the work, particularly as regards the installation of traffic engineering elements, painting, signage, hummocking and grassing.
