Road improvements to continue the reconstruction of Kecskemét's long-established site

The Kada Elek Technical High School gets a new home

As we have reported in several previous articles, three buildings in the north-western part of the former Rudolf Barracks have been converted into a family support centre. which was handed over in 2022. The complex, built at the end of the 19th century based on the designs of Ödön Lechner and Gyula Pártos, was renovated by Lecpes Kft..

Other buildings of the former barracks will be renovated in another project. The main building, the officers' building and the non-commissioned officers' building will be restored, rebuilt and extended by Horváth Építőmester Zrt.. In addition, the three former crew buildings will be preserved. The works will also provide a new home for the Kada Elek Technical High School, which will move from its old home due to the renovation of the Kodály Institute.

A new street lighting network is also being built

The public procurement now being announced names three access roads to the future school. The planned parallel roads 'A' and 'C' will be connected perpendicularly by road 'B', which will run in front of the future Kada Elek school block. The contractor will also be responsible for the construction of a lighting network along the traffic routes, pavements and car parks.

The notice published by the Kecskemét municipality in January also includes another sub-task, to continue the renovation of Nyíri út.
