Track construction on the M4 main line to start soon

Traffic will soon be diverted to the new track on the Törökszentmiklós bypass section of the M4, magyarepitok.hu reports.The 34.29-kilometre section between Törökszentmiklós and Kisújszállás is being built by Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium, with Duna Aszfalt Projekt Zrt. as the general contractor.

Half of the road section to be built on new track

The section in question will include 17.5 km of new track between Törökszentmiklós and Kisújszállás, while 8.1 km of the existing dual carriageway will be extended at the Törökszentmiklós bypass and 8.7 km at the Kisújszállás bypass.

The project will also include a complex rest area, providing space for a future charging station, as well as a simple rest area with axle weight measurement, 11 underpasses, 4 overpasses, 2 of the existing bypass structures will be renovated.

The asphalt binder course is already in place at the Turkishszentmiklós junction

According to the summary sent to our newspaper, the new left lane of the Turkish-Centennial bypass is ready up to the level of the asphalt binder course. At the same time, the embankment and the noise barrier are being built. Traffic on the existing right lane is expected to be shifted to the newly constructed left lane in May.

At the Törökszentmiklós junction, the roundabouts and the connecting branch are completed up to the asphalt binder course. In addition, the substructure of the junction bridge has been completed and the steel girders are being installed.

Construction of the track structure on the main line will start shortly

On the main line between Törökszentmiklós and Kisújszállás, the construction of the embankment and the upper 1 m layer of the earthwork is underway, as well as the embankment paving and the construction of the cross and longitudinal canals. Construction of the track structure will also start shortly on several sections.

The earthwork on the new right-hand lane of the Kisújszállás bypass is complete. The construction of the FZKA base course and the asphalt base and binder layers is currently underway. On the two railway bridges, the piers, head girders and bridge abutments have been completed and the lifting of the girders is expected to take place during April and May.

Drinking water and waste water pipe replacements nearing completion

In the last period, piling and bridge-head construction works were carried out on the structures belonging to the M4 section under construction at the bridge of the Nagykunság main canal and the bridge of the Kisújszállás junction. At the same time, work is ongoing on a wildlife crossing combined with a dirt road.

In addition, the pile-driving of the Armenian junction and four intersecting dirt roads will begin. Delivery of the steel supports for the wildlife crossing is underway and site installation works are underway.

According to the report, the replacement of the drinking water and waste water mains is 90% complete: the construction of the new connections is finished, the replacement of the electricity network is complete and the replacement of the gas mains will be completed in May.
