A new access road has been built in the Bakony village famous for its farewell party

On Monday, the access road to Csatka in Komárom-Esztergom county was inaugurated, the 3.3 km section was renovated by Magyar Közút Nonprofit Zrt. at a cost of HUF 300 million. Judit Czunyiné Bertalan, Fidesz MP for the region, told MTI,

The local significance of the project, which was implemented within the framework of the Hungarian Village Programme, is that this road is the only transport link for the village of 250 inhabitants with the region, Ácsteszér and Kisbér.

The Bakonyalja village of Sack is a famous place of pilgrimage, every year on September 8th the feast of the Assumption of Our Lady is held at the chapel of the Holy Cross. 

Signposts and vegetation have also been renewed

According to the road manager, the rehabilitation work involved the use of nearly 4,000 tonnes of asphalt to restore the road surface. The road drainage system was cleaned, worn-out signs were replaced and vegetation was cut back.   

In Komárom-Esztergom county, the company will start the reconstruction of the 5.3 km Bana access road and the 4.5 km Hanta access road, and the Ács-Bábolna and Őrisáp-Bajót roads will be renewed this year.
