New roads to clean up Soroksár's industrial outskirts

Published

The HE-DO project on the outskirts of the capital will also renew the outdated utility infrastructure.

A new road and cycle path is being built in Soroksár by HE-DO. In the XXIII district of the capital, a 530-metre section will be upgraded on Virágpatak road and a 350-metre section on Névtelen street. KM Építő Kft. is also involved as a subcontractor.

New traffic light intersection to help traffic

In addition to road and cycle paths, the project will also improve the following utilities in the area:

  • drinking water pipes,
  • gas pipelines,
  • street lighting,
  • stormwater drainage,
  • waste water drainage,
  • Telecoms network.

Virágpatak street leads into Ócsai út, which is the main road 5, and traffic management equipment with traffic lights will be installed at this intersection.

Why investment is needed

The project will rehabilitate deteriorated roads in the outlying areas of Soroksár, which have an industrial function. According to our information, the project is the first phase of the district's road relief project, which will create a quality transport corridor for local businesses in the first instance. The area was once home to a cooperative, and the associated outdated utilities infrastructure will also be renewed.

The HE-DO took over the work area on 23 July and started the site preparation work the next day. The road construction and gas replacement works have already started, followed by the replacement of the drinking water pipelines.
