Roads in border settlements to be renewed in Békés

In Kétegyháza, Békés county, 2.5 kilometres of roads on eight streets will definitely be renovated, and the market square will also be modernised, pending the outcome of the tender.

More than 300 million forints of EU funding will be used to renovate roads in Kétegyháza, Békés county, the local government said.

The municipality of 3 300 inhabitants has won 323 million HUF from the Operational Programme for Spatial and Urban Development (TOP) Plus, of which eight streets will receive a total of more than 2.5 kilometres of solid paving.

The construction is expected to start next year, following the conclusion of the grant contract and the public procurement, the municipality said.

The medical centre and the market square may also be renewed

They added that two further TOP Plusz applications have been submitted and are awaiting the outcome. The medical centre would be developed with around 44 million HUF and the market area with almost 60 million HUF.
