Status report on road rehabilitation in South Transdanubia before the winter break

Road renovation works commenced at twenty-two locations in South Transdanubia during the autumn. rel="noopener">road renovation works began in South Transdanubia during the autumn. The Magyar Közút Nonprofit Zrt. investment project involves the complete renovation of a total of 57 kilometres of four- and five-digit roads.

Work on the section between Siklós and Drávaszabolcs on road 5712 will be completed this year as planned section of road 5712 between Siklós and Drávaszabolcs. Here, between kilometre markers 1+777 and 3+542, the Strabag Általános Építő Kft., while between kilometre markers 0+005 and 0+960, experts from SOLTÚT Kft. are working. In addition to these sections, this article also provides information on a significant part of the routes based on information from the investor Magyar Közút.

The road and its surroundings will also be renovated

The project involves the complete renewal of around 2.3 kilometres of road. The works will be carried out both inside and outside Siklós. In addition to the replacement of the road structure and the construction of a new wearing course and embankments, pavement reinforcement and local repairs will be carried out. The contractors will also be responsible for the rehabilitation of drainage systems, culverts and bridges along the corridor.
The railway crossing at the beginning of road 5712 will be dismantled, the rails and concrete elements will be removed and replaced with new asphalt pavement. In addition, two existing bus shelters will be renovated and a bus shelter will be relocated.

Renovations and preparations for spring works are underway

The Soltút has already started preparatory works for road reconstruction in several other locations, mainly in Somogy county, but the contractor's experts are also present at the reconstruction of several road sections in Baranya.
The following road sections will be handed back to the contractor for the winter period, from mid-December, and the complete reconstruction of the roads will be completed in the spring.

The Soltút will completely renovate 4 km of the access road 66141 in Silvászentmárton in the Zselic.
The preparatory phase of the works will be carried out in the coming weeks on the 6505 Kaposvár-Szántód link road between kilometre sections 13+100-14+462.
A similar situation should also be expected for the corridors between Baté and Igal and between Juta and Pusztakovácsi. In the latter two locations, a total of around 8,612 metres of roads will be upgraded.

Cross-county works are also underway

The Soltút is also working on the roads connecting Somogy and Baranya counties. Two sections of the Szigetvár-Kadarkút road are being renewed. A total of 7.5 kilometres of the road 6607, bounded by kilometre markers 14-16 and 17-22, are being renewed.
In addition, in Baranya, road renewal works are under way on sections 24+040-26+680 of the 6601 road between Szentlőrinc and Oroszló.
