MKIF: Roads are also being revitalised at rest stops on the motorway network

This year, 33 rest areas were renovated and the programme will continue next year.

An important series of projects is underway on the MKIF Magyar Koncessziós Infrastruktúra Fejlesztő Zrt. network: in addition to motorway surfaces, rest areas and their roads are also being renovated one after the other. We regularly report on the work of MKIF Zrt. in our newspaper report on the work of MKIF Zrt. in our newspaper, most recently summarising the past two years of the company's comprehensive levelling programme we wrote: 46 per cent of the road network operated by the company was rejuvenated during this period.

Based on their video and post published on Facebook , we are now reporting on the work being done on the roads connecting the road network.

A renovation programme was launched in August last year, under which:

In 2023 7,
In 2024, 33 rest areas were renovated,
In 2025, a further 30 rest areas will be renovated.

The old, cracked, rutted pavement has been replaced by new asphalt in many places in the rest areas - whether parking lots or rest area side roads. The brochure also summarises that MKIF Zrt. is responsible for the operation and renewal of a further 450-500 km of roads on its network of 167 rest areas and 147 junctions, in addition to the 1,237 km of main line.
