We’ll be able to cycle 25 kilometres along the Zala border region

As we previously reported in the Zala Kétkeréken project, cycling infrastructure developments in Letenye, Becsehely, Tornyiszentmiklós, Dobri, Kerkaszentmihály, Muraszemenye and Murarátka. According to the results of the public procurement process, with a total value of approximately 1.4 billion forints public procurement worth approximately 1.4 billion forints, the consortium comprising Inter Presidente Kft. and PYLON-S Építőipari Kft. – J-FACTUM Kft. will carry out the developments, which will both serve local communities and enhance the region’s appeal to tourists.

Spotlight on Southern Zala

The „Zala on Two Wheels” project links the settlements in the south-eastern border region of the county into a single infrastructure network. The works involve both road sections within built-up areas and those in rural areas, as well as several bridges. The works are divided as follows:

Tornyiszentmiklós

• Construction of a cycle path over a distance of 2,500 metres, as well as
• construction of cycle path sections within the administrative area of Tornyiszentmiklós, totalling 1,108.42 metres;
• the construction of a new cycle bridge.

The contract was awarded to Inter Presidente Kft., which submitted a bid of 157,262,460 forints.

Dobri

• Construction of a 700.26-metre section of cycle path within the administrative area of Dobri, as well as
• Construction of a cycle path over a length of 1,836.36 metres.
• Construction of two new cycle bridges;
• Construction of a town entrance (central reservation) on Road 7538, in front of the built-up area of Dobri.
• Construction of a cycle path section within the administrative area of Dobri, alongside Road 7538.

The contract has been awarded to the consortium comprising PYLON-S Építőipari Kft – J-FACTUM Kft. for a sum of 419,857,113 forints.

Kerkaszentkirály

• The creation of cycle lanes on national roads, as well as
• on local authority-managed road sections, totalling 2,590 metres.

The conversion can be carried out by Inter Presidente Kft. for 5,251,327 forints.

Murasemenye

• Construction of a cycle path on a national road and
• on local authority-managed road sections, as well as
• Construction of a cycle path section within the administrative area of Muraszemenye, totalling 7,400.18 metres.

This section was also awarded to Inter Presidente Kft. with a bid of 209,825,065 forints.

Murarátka

• Construction of a cycle path along 1,870 metres of public road 7538.
• Construction of cycle path sections over a length of approximately 118 metres, as well as
• construction of a cycle crossing and a central traffic island.

The bid of Inter Presidente Kft., amounting to 33,403,026 forints, was successful.

Letenye

• Construction and renovation of cycle path sections,
• Construction of a cycle path within the administrative area of Letenye, covering a distance of 5,819.38 metres.

The Inter Presidente Kft. also proved to be the successful bidder for the project’s largest contract, with a bid of 523,114,882 forints.

Becsehely

• Renovation of an existing cycle path within the administrative area of Becsehely, alongside Main Road 7, over a length of 1,360.72 metres.

The work can be carried out by Inter Presidente Kft. for 91,611,712 forints.
