Green solutions to make use of rainwater in the new Nyíregyháza stadium
We report on the development of the football stadium being built in Nyíregyháza from a new perspective: this time we present the construction of the facility's rainwater reservoirs with the help of the supplier Pureco Kft.. As revealed in our previous articles our previous articles have revealed, after the demolition of the former stadium, an 8,150-seat, approximately 12,200-square-metre facility will be built with a 10,000-square-metre central pitch. The development is being carried out by Épkar Zrt. and Nyír-Wetland Generál Zrt.. In the case of the roofing panels, the metal support structure resting on monolithic reinforced concrete pillars was manufactured and installed by Weinberg ’93 Kft..
Pureco Kft., a developer, manufacturer and marketer of sustainable water management solutions, reported,
that it is subcontracting the installation of rainwater storage tanks in the new Nyíregyháza stadium, with a total capacity of more than 1000 m3. "During the work, we will carry out the manufacture and assembly of the tanks, coordinate their installation and perform the tasks of the responsible technical manager," reads the description sent to our newspaper.
This solution has greatly increased efficiency
According to the summary, the following artefacts will be installed to ensure the functioning of the arena:
- a 113 m3-reservoir tank,
- a 165 m3a flow-through rainwater reservoir to provide irrigation water,
- and an 814 m3 a reservoir tank with capacity to retain rainwater.
It was also pointed out that the original tender for the 814 m3 delay tank was for a reinforced concrete structure, but due to economy, efficiency and shorter installation time and long life, spiral cased steel tanks are being installed. They added that the 165 m3 flow-through stormwater reservoir can accommodate both the 80 m3 daily water demand for track irrigation and the 70 m3 daily water demand for the green areas on the property. "This reservoir capacity will be in addition to, and in addition to, the 810 m3 delayed storage reservoir volume in accordance with the track irrigation."
Light and fast construction, easy to move, long life
Moving on to the benefits of the products associated with the reservoir tanks, the easy and quick construction was mentioned first, which means a progress of about 120-150 metres per day, depending on the design. In addition, moving is easy compared to the reservoir capacity: for shorter arming distances, it can even be done with a rotary excavator. In addition, the structure is extremely load-bearing once constructed, with a load capacity corresponding to road load class A.
An equally important feature is that there are no maintenance costs for the operator, with a life of at least 50 years, depending on the soil PH. They added that if the technical fill is constructed as specified, the pipe structure will not be susceptible to mechanical stresses.
The advantageous structural properties of corrugated steel tubes are achieved
For an innovative solution to stormwater storage, Pureco distributes spiral capped, circular section, hot-dip galvanized steel pipe reservoirs in the diameter range 800-2900 mm. "With transportability in mind, our pipes are manufactured in lengths of 3-13 m, with individual pipe sections joined together using straps or rubber cuff bottom joints. The water in the pipes with strapped joints is held in place by a rubber sealing ring inserted during the casing design. The storage tank is formed by sealing the ends of the pipes with a bottom plate."
They added that with simple locksmith finishing work, shafts, hatches, outlets and inlets, partitions and base plates for pump reception can be created. "By using in-line or parallel reservoir layouts, the most efficient reservoir capacity can be developed within the available floor space." However, the system can also be used as a grey water reservoir with a fire water and suitable additional coating.
They stressed,
Roofs made of corrugated steel retain the advantageous structural stability properties of corrugated steel pipes, which are the result of the soil and steel working together. However, care must be taken to ensure that the flexible steel structure transfers loads to the surrounding fill, so that both the fill material and the quality of the compaction must be considered during construction.
Flexible cooperation was also key in this project
In response to a question, they also explained the workflow of the Pureco: after the products have been manufactured and delivered to site, the watertight technology installation of the equipment is also carried out by their own colleagues. However, the customer is responsible for preparing the technical filling as required. "After installation, we will provide information to the operators on the operation of the system," they added.
They also pointed out that the nature of the work required a coordinated approach with many companies, which required a lot of attention and a constructive, solution-oriented approach.
"In the Nyíregyháza project, win-win cooperation was also key, as the design and site layout had to be changed several times during the negotiations to ensure that the products to be manufactured fully comply with the modifications made during the utility design. In the end, we were able to meet all the desired requirements," the report concludes.
