Focus on the future of the water industry - Hungarian-Slovak Water Industry Trade and Business Meeting coming soon

Preparations for climate change have already begun, and it is not only the water industry but the future of our entire environment that is at stake. It is no coincidence that the Pureco Kft.

Increasing sustainability efforts will have a huge impact on companies, but also on the whole supply chain. This is visibly outlined in the ESG compliance requirements. A gap filling event will therefore be organised by Hungarian Water Partnership Nonprofit Kft. (HWP) and CED Central Europe Gazdaságfejlesztési Hálózat Nonprofit Kft. (CED) on 19 September 2024 at Selye János University in Révkomárom.

Perhaps the biggest event in the sector

The Hungarian-Slovak Water Industry Professional and Business Meeting - The positive impact of ESG on the future of the sector was established to strengthen cross-border sector cooperation and to promote bilateral professional dialogue. This initiative is also unique in that the impact of ESG on the water sector, the water industry, water utilities and water security of companies has not been explored at such an event.

Thanks to the active international involvement of the Hungarian water industry and economic development, more than 100 business partners will attend the high-profile international meeting: almost every company that designs, invests, builds, operates or finances the water industry will be represented at the event. The programme will provide an opportunity to exchange experiences in the sector, discuss water management issues and review water or water-related development efforts in the two countries.

Priority themes, common solutions

Among the topics on the agenda of the conference, which will be held in Hungarian and Slovakian, will be the exchange of experience between planners, investors, contractors and operators, the assessment of the situation of water management, the development of the sector and cross-border project opportunities.

A particular focus will be on the environmental, social and governance (ESG) framework underpinning financial decisions on "responsible investment" and its impact on the situation of water companies in Slovakia and Hungary.
