Capacity expansion solves Piliscsaba's wastewater treatment problems

The dynamically growing population has made the development of the sewerage network and the wastewater treatment plant in Piliscsaba inevitable. The HUF 358 million development was implemented with HUF 340 million in non-refundable funding under the Széchenyi 2020 programme and a HUF 18 million contribution from the municipality. The construction was carried out by the Szolnok-based General Enterprise Workshop Kft..

New sewer connections are also possible

After the works were completed at the end of last year, the possibility of building a new sewerage network and connecting more households was opened up. The development was partly carried out within the extension area of the sewage plant, partly by using the biological block of the plant, by renovating and reconstructing the mechanical equipment and by extending the sewage network, the municipality said. The objective was - according to the tender specification - to achieve a combined hydraulic capacity of 1,950 m3/day and a biological capacity of 16,249 hp for the two sections of the Piliscsaba wastewater treatment plant.

The capacity of public utilities has been adjusted to the number of inhabitants

The population of Piliscsaba has been growing steadily over the past decades, but public services have struggled to keep pace with the dynamic growth of the population. Increasing the capacity of the wastewater treatment plant was therefore essential to maintain the quality of life of local residents.
