The foundation slab for the nuclear island of Unit 5 is being constructed continuously in several phases. Given the size of the site and the complexity of the preparatory work, the excavation pit has been divided into several sections to ensure the task is carried out efficiently and safely.
In accordance with the organisational plan, the various stages of work are proceeding in parallel. The casting of structural concrete, the insulation of the structural concrete and the installation of the earthing network are proceeding side by side. Steelwork is underway, along with the installation of fittings and the formwork and concreting of the base slab sections, continuing into the night where necessary.
