The €108 billion public programme is available for replacing windows and doors, modernising hot water systems, insulating buildings and replacing gas boilers.

The Government is launching a new home renovation programme with a budget of HUF 108 billion for the energy modernisation of family houses built before 1990: with a HUF 1 million co-payment, a maximum of HUF 6 million in subsidies can be claimed, half of which is an interest-free loan and the other half is a non-repayable grant, announced the Minister of State for Energy and Climate Policy at a press conference on Friday.

Attila Steiner said that the subsidy is available for properties that have piped gas, and an additional condition is the normal use of the building. The state programme is available for replacing windows and doors, modernising hot water systems, insulating buildings and replacing gas boilers.

Gergely Fábián, Minister of State for Industrial Policy and Technology of the Ministry of National Economy (NGM), said that the programme is expected to modernise the energy efficiency of 20 thousand family houses.
