Csepel's first Burger King restaurant is expected to open its doors in early 2026 in the immediate vicinity of Csepel Plaza, as part of a complex district-shaping investment, according to a press release sent to our newspaper. The project investor is Mall Invest Zrt., and the project manager is Magyar Ingatlanberuházó Zrt. (MIB Zrt.). Both companies are subsidiaries of Indotek Group.

The project aims to transform the currently underused site next to Csepel Plaza into a modern, sustainable and community-friendly urban space, while creating new jobs and improving the quality of life in the district, they say.

The planned building will have zero emissions and an energy rating of "A":

a heat recovery ventilation system and an all-electric heating and cooling solution ensure energy-efficient operation. A green roof and a green wall on the façade will also be built to improve air quality and microclimate, making the space cooler.

As part of the investment, Mall Invest Zrt. will install landscaped rest areas, a diverse plant stock and an automatic irrigation system, and build new pavements to create a barrier-free pedestrian connection between Csepel Plaza and the surrounding public spaces.

"The project in Csepel is an excellent example of how we can align international tenant needs with the needs of the local community, while creating a greener, more livable environment." - said dr. István Hüse CEO of Magyar Ingatlanberuházó Zrt..

The tenant of the 334 sqm fast food restaurant under construction is Fusion Befektetési Zrt., which operates the Burger King brand in Hungary and is strengthening its sustainable business strategy by expanding its network. The opening of the new Burger King is expected to provide 35-40 new jobs, mainly for local residents.
