The new Leier Retaining Wall block makes construction easier than ever 

The leading Hungarian manufacturer of structural building materials, Leier Hungária Kft, has entered the market with a new product that offers a number of advantages. The company has been enriching the Hungarian construction market for more than 35 years, offering innovative solutions to emerging industry needs. Nowadays, efficiency has become a watchword, not only in human resources but also in financial terms. More and more contractors are recognising that prefabricated elements can bring record speeds to construction, reducing noise and dust emissions, manual labour and material costs.

In response to this demand, the new Leier range was launched in the summer of 2023.The main advantage of Block Wall Elements is their modular design, which allows for a wide range of applications.

The versatility of the system is enhanced by its many advantages, including the possibility of quick and easy construction and the possibility of rebuilding. Another positive aspect is that the elements allow for stable constructions without the need for foundations, while their reusable nature promotes sustainable solutions.

The 27 types of block elements offer competitive advantages

The Leier retaining wall block is ideal for a wide range of projects, including construction companies, building material dealers, building material landfills, recycling and waste management companies, farms, concrete plants and timber dealers.

The Leier retaining wall block is also an excellent solution for building storage facilities. Based on the modular principle, the system elements can be quickly and easily assembled - just like Lego cubes - and easily disassembled and reconfigured if required. In addition, the moulds can be recycled .

The height and width of the masonry can be flexibly adapted to current requirements. Construction can be easily started from a flat base of asphalt or concrete. The construction is based on the base bridge, which is offered in 4 different sizes. Five other nodes are also available in 4 sizes, and one in 3, making the elements available in a total of 27 geometric configurations.

Among the Leier retaining wall block elements, in addition to the base tie, we distinguish a half tie, a forklift tie, a skew tie, a locking tie, a locking roof tie and a plinth tie. All of these, with the exception of the skirting batten, are available in four different sizes, thus offering a wide range of applications.

The block elements can be used to build retaining walls with wall thicknesses of 40, 60 and 80 cm, and the 80 cm element can be used to build a 4 m high depot with the addition of a plinth.

The product debuted with amazing efficiency

The efficient and flexible installation of Leier block elements is demonstrated by a project already underway. A large quantity of Leier products is being installed for a major agricultural development in Sarród, near Fertőd in the county of Győr-Moson-Sopron. A total of 640 Leier 180x60x60 retaining wall block elements will be supplied for the new buildings, which will be used for the construction of the side walls of the machine storage area and for the construction of a grain storage area. A key consideration for the project was that the concrete walls could be constructed without additional foundation work or concreting on site, as it is a working farm.
