WHB helps Győr's hard-hit residents with hundreds of furniture donations

The WEST HUNGÁRIA BAU Kft. in Győr supports the city's social organisations with a valuable donation. On 3 April, 220 pieces of furniture and 120 sanitary items were donated to the Homeless Help Service Győr and the Hosting Donation Centre. This will allow the institutions to replace worn-out furniture and expand their accommodation facilities.

The event was attended by

• Gábor Nemes, head of the Homeless Support Service Győr,
• Rita Rákosi-Tóth, Director of the Family and Child Welfare Centre Győr,
• Róbert Kányai, Director of the Unified Health and Social Institution Győr,
• and Zsanett Szikszai, Marketing Manager of WHB.

In a statement sent to us, the company explained:

"Since its inception, WEST HUNGÁRIA BAU Kft. has placed a strong emphasis on social responsibility and we are committed to contributing as much as we can to improving the quality of life in the society around us. Just as our daily building activities are characterised by our slogan "We create a legacy", our helping actions are characterised by our CSR slogan "We give a legacy".

Continuing a tradition of more than a quarter of a century

As they have written, their support policy has been developed along a firm line over the past 26 years. "Year after year, we try to provide more and more support, according to our possibilities, to create a better future for ourselves and our children, to help those in need and our fellow human beings in a disadvantaged situation, to the extent we can" they said.

For this reason, WHB considers it of the utmost importance that the furniture and sanitary equipment that has become redundant due to the change of function of the buildings owned by the company, but is still in good condition, should not end up in the trash, but be given to people who can use it," the statement concluded.

The donation included the following equipment and furnishings worth more than HUF 9 million:

• 13pcs round table
• 31pcs double door wardrobe
• 26pcs dresser

• 40db toilet
• 40pcs faucet
