Important step in the Pécs relief road project
Last year, August, we reported that, along with several other infrastructure development projects, the state had secured funding for the Pécs east-west bypass road project. The construction of the new connecting road is particularly important because it will take over the traffic from Road 6, which passes through the centre of the Baranya county seat.
With the implementation of the project, the city centre of Pécs will be relieved of congestion and new industrial areas will be opened up, allowing the development of the economy.
According to data recently published in the EU's public procurement notice published in recent days, an environmental and road safety impact assessment will be carried out for an approximately 11-kilometre-long, 2×2-lane primary road, partly on existing and partly on new routes, and a study plan will also be prepared. Obtaining an environmental permit is also part of the task.
The project, worth approximately HUF 234 million net, was undertaken by the consortium led by FŐMTERV Zrt. on behalf of Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium. According to the data published by János Kővári, a municipal representative in Pécs. The track
- flyover,
- overpass over a road railway
- a separate level
- and 4 roundabouts
- and 5 turbo roundabout junctions
will also include.
