Mol Campus wins both the Green Building Award and the World's Best Office Building Award
The complex also won in the office building and green building categories. The awards were presented to the winners at the awards ceremony in Singapore.
New heights in the domestic construction industry
Mol's new headquarters, Market Építő Zrt., opened in December 2022, was completed.
The 143-metre-high, almost 86,000-square-metre building is home to 2,500 employees. The facility is built with 4 levels below ground level and 28 levels above ground level, with a completely unique spatial design.
The construction was regularly reported by our portal. The project was financed by the company from its own resources, the costs of which are considered a trade secret. The building was designed by Foster + Partners of London and their Hungarian partner Finta és Társai Építész Stúdió.
Mol Campus also received the Construction Excellence Award and the Green Building Certificate
The Mol Campus is the only one in Hungary to have achieved both the LEED Platinum and the BREAM Excellent green building certification. This can be awarded to projects that:
98% of the waste generated during construction was prepared for recycling.
A solar farm and ground-source heat pumps have been installed for the day-to-day operation of the tower block to maximise the use of renewable energy. The sustainability consultancy and certification tasks were carried out by Óbuda Group .
Since its inauguration, the Mol headquarters has won numerous professional awards. In 2023, Építési Vállalkozók Országos Szakszövetsége and Mol Campus were awarded the Construction Award of Excellence in the Public Building and Office Building category. Also last year, three office buildings built by Market, including a 143-metre tower block, won the Office of the Year award.
Considered the Oscar for architecture
The building has also won international recognition from the profession. Mol Campus was awarded the first prize for the world's best office building and environmentally friendly project by the International Real Estate Association, founded in 1951 and active in more than 60 countries.
The award is known as the Oscars of architecture.
Every year, the Paris-based FIABCI organises the FIABCI World Prix d'Excellence, which aims to select and recognise the most successful real estate developments.
Launched 30 years ago, the FIABCI World Prix d'Excellence is the world's most prestigious real estate development competition, with successful developers from 37 countries on five continents.
