Published

For the second time, the domestically owned group has published its sustainability report in line with GRI 2021 standards.

KÉSZ Csoport continued to pursue its sustainability goals based on the three pillars of ESG in 2023 and published its annual report on the subject , according to a press release sent to our newspaper (we also wrote about this last year in magyarepitok.hu we wrote about KÉSZ's annual ESG report).  The group intends to achieve its goals by launching new investments, programmes and awareness-raising campaigns, among other things, they write.

Focus on solar

The construction-focused group of companies has further increased its renewable energy production capacity by installing solar panels, and from 2023 onwards, it will be able to partially Greenergy Group.

The first solar parking lot of the KÉSZ Greentech business unit was put into operation at their headquarters in Kecskemét, which was born in the spirit of sustainability in both its design and construction.

The structurally complete, self-developed TILIA office building, which is already structurally complete and under development, is seeking to obtain Access4you Gold certification following the certification of BREEAM Excellent and WELL Platina.

Last year, life-cycle assessments were carried out for a number of own-manufactured construction products and certified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) will be completed in 2024. These important steps will enable environmentally conscious decision-making by designers and contractors, helping to create a more sustainable construction industry.

Health has not been forgotten either

In addition to environmental results, the sustainability report includes the Group's corporate governance and social programmes and data, in line with the requirements of the most widely used international sustainability standard, GRI (GRI: Global Reporting Initiative, Global Reporting Initiative). They stress that they are proud of their health campaign, which has included health screening programmes, well-being-themed presentations and workshops, and an EHS Day.

"In the recent challenging period, we have continued to move forward with our overall ESG strategy. We have continuously sought to improve our sustainable practices to meet the increasing expectations of stakeholders and regulatory requirements. Two key success factors in advancing our Group's ESG journey are embedding sustainability into our business strategy and strengthening management and employee engagement."

- said Tamás Vida, CEO of KÉSZ Holding ZRt..

A pioneering role in youth training

The Group is a pioneer in the sector in the field of vocational training and education, which is of paramount importance for competitiveness in the sector. The company is in its second year of strategic alignment of BIM methodological applications covering the entire construction value chain, with the aim of fully integrating BIM applications into KÉSZ Csoport operations. In the compliance area, the Group has focused on prevention and is complying with the Complaints Act by renewing the Clean Hands Abuse Reporting System. There have been no fatal or serious accidents among the Group's own employees or directly contracted subcontractors.

As described, KÉSZ Csoport addresses sustainability at a strategic level and has therefore developed a sustainability strategy for the period 2022-2030 that goes well beyond the mandatory requirements and plans to achieve smart targets. Last year, the Group published for the first time its GRI 2021 Sustainability Report for 2022. The scope of companies included in the report will be gradually expanded to be fully prepared for reporting in 2025 in line with the requirements of the CSRD, the EU Taxonomy and the domestic ESG law, the statement concludes.
