Strabag strengthened with the construction of a record factory in Transylvania

Strabag has opened the largest bitumen emulsion plant in Romania, in the county of Silhágy, profit.ro reports, according to a company statement.

The plant in Criseni has a production capacity of 15 tonnes per hour. The investment is worth €2.2 million (HUF 881 million). The plant is operated by SAT Reabilitare-Reciclare SRL, owned by Strabag of Austria.

"This investment is an important step towards strengthening our position as a regional leader in road repair and a long-term commitment to sustainability and innovation," said Hans Kirchknopf, SAT's Technical Director.

SAT is a Cluj-based company registered in 2010, which manufactures and distributes bitumen emulsion and other products for the construction and maintenance of road infrastructure.In 2024, the company employed 84 people and achieved a pre-tax profit of RON 10.6 million on a turnover of RON 101.2 million.
