A new classroom at one of the country's best-known secondary schools for the construction industry has been refurbished by Bayer Construct Zrt. The company supports the development of the next generation of professionals in a number of ways.

The BKSZC Schulek Frigyes Schulek Bilingual Construction Technical College is one of the country's oldest vocational schools. It opened its doors in 1879, in the early days of vocational education in Hungary, and has been providing high quality vocational education ever since.

As the Bayer Construct Group places a high priority on supporting academic and after-school programmes, they were delighted to undertake the modernisation of one of the school's classrooms. As they wrote:

"Our aim, also through our apprenticeship and engineering programmes, is not only to transfer knowledge to young people, but also to provide them with opportunities for development. We believe that the young generation holds the key to our common future."

BAYER CONSTRUCT II. classroom

One of Hungary's largest construction and residential property developers, the Bayer Construct group of companies will be the second hall next to the name of the building from September this year.

"We received the hall on 2 July, the unloading started and the works were completed by 25 August"

- we learned from company staff. The work also included the renovation of a double-leaf door and a triple-leaf window, where the specialists preserved the windows for decades to come by removing previous surface treatments, repairing the gilding, replacing and re-plastering the windows.

Devices suitable for BIM, enhanced ergonomics

Ergonomics and durability were the most important considerations when choosing desks and chairs for the classroom.

"That's why we chose the range we used in the previous renovation, as they have already proven themselves based on feedback," they said.

High-performance computing equipment to run the BIM-based software was installed, and a projector with high resolution and brightness, mounted on a stand, was installed to support education. The following work was carried out as part of their detailed refurbishment:

  • dismantling of electrical fittings and fixtures;
  • dismantling of the basic electrical installation, making a new basic installation from the distributor;
  • Replacement of electrical distribution boards in the classrooms and in the classrooms;
  • design and construction of new high and low voltage systems and lighting;
  • renovation, fitting and glazing of windows and doors;
  • re-plastering and resurfacing of ceilings and side walls;
  • preparation of a gletted concrete surface;
