Logistics development to start in Tata - Plans to build a rail loading yard

The Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium conditional public procurement procedure for the detailed design of the new railway loading facility and related facilities next to the Tata railway station. The task must be completed within 720 days.

The 4,200-square-metre loading bay and the associated loading road - totalling 9,000 square metres - are designed to create a modern logistics infrastructure at the Tata station along the Budapest-Hegyeshalom railway line No. 1.

Two new tracks, overpass and crossing may be built

One of the key design objectives is to provide an axle load of 225 kN on the loader and to improve the rail-road connections according to the following technical content:

• the design of two tracks (without overhead contact line) branching off from the station and forming part of the station, each 300 m long, i.e. a total of 600 m of track;
• design of a 150 m long road crossing to ensure road traffic alongside the two tracks;
• design of the modification of the external and internal elements of the railway safety equipment connected to the tracks and, beyond that, the design of the modification of the emerging KÖFI (Central Traffic Management);
• planning the development of the "war road" as a stabilisation dirt road (approx. 550 m);
• reviewing the pavement of the entire section of Honvéd utca (in front of the barracks) (approx. 600 m), planning the construction of a solid pavement if justified, and planning the improvement of the parking lot (2570 m2) in the affected area;
• the design of a new flyover on the embankment of Highway 1, which would require a breakthrough and would be adjacent to the existing rail-road grade-separated junction. The proposed structure should have a working load capacity of up to 80 tonnes and a clear opening of approximately 15.7 metres.

BIM-based design is also included in the exercise

The work includes the preparation of the permit and design documentation, the preparation of tender documents and the obtaining of all necessary building and official permits. An environmental impact assessment will be included in the overall design package. The documentation shall be prepared using BIM modelling for both the permit and the construction plans.
