Danubius Hotels, which also operates Astoria, has remodelled several of its hotels

Founded in 1972 as a state-owned company, Danubius is currently owned by the British CP Holdings Ltd. The hotel group is present in six European countries: it owns and operates spa, wellness and city hotels in Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania, the UK and Bulgaria.As of 2019, the city hotels are grouped around the Danubius Hotels brand, while the spa and wellness hotels are grouped around the Ensana brand.

The company operates nine hotels in Budapest and six in the countryside, including the Astoria, the Gellért Hotel and the Hilton. It employs more than two thousand people, and its total revenue exceeded HUF 48 billion in 2022. We have previously reported on several of their developments here, and this spring, three of their hotels will unveil renovated guest areas and rooms: the Danubius Hotel Helia with special suites that are unique in Budapest, the Danubius Hotel Annabella in Balatonfüred with a new room type, and the Danubius Hotel Bükk with a modernised wellness area and services.

New services

As reported to MTI, the HUF 5 billion development will

• Danubius Hotel Helia in Budapest will offer another 100 premium rooms with a modern look, including three new suite types, a sauna and a private gym in the hotel's lifestyle apartments.
• The refurbishment of Danubius Hotel Bük will include 38 rooms with a new look and a new suite, in keeping with the modern style of the previous hotel. The hotel's wellness facilities will also be further enhanced, with a couples massage room, a Thai massage room and a salt cave.
• The Danubius Hotel Annabella in Balatonfüred will return with a new room type for the 2024 season, with 135 premium rooms and two suites.

And this year they plan to spend more than last year on their further projects.
