Another school to be renovated in Veszprém

Across the country, 31 institutions in 18 vocational training centres are undergoing almost HUF 96 billion worth of improvements, and HUF 53 billion is being spent on construction projects in schools. This includes the renewal of the central workshop of the Vocational Training Centre in Házgyári Street, Veszprém. The project is being implemented under the Recovery and Resilience Instrument within the framework of the 21st Century Vocational Education and Training Institutions Development Programme, under the RRF-2.2.2-23-2023-00009 identification number, with a total budget of HUF 3.901 billion.
 

Students from three schools will study here

Máté Pap, Chancellor of the institution, told us about the details of the project:

"For the overall development, they chose our central workshop in the industrial district of Veszprém because it is very energy-inefficient, but at the same time it serves the students of 3 of our schools in a number of sectors."

The head of the institution added: thanks to the investment, students choosing to study in the construction, building engineering, woodworking, furniture and mechanical engineering sectors will be able to learn in 21st century conditions and with modern equipment.
 

In addition to the renovation of the common spaces, the institution will also include a canteen and a conference room. The seven full-time schools of the Veszprém Vocational Training Centre educate more than 4,000 students in 16 sectors. The centre has 5 institutions in Veszprém and 1 in Ajka and Balatonfűzfő.

The central workshop, selected for renovation, was built in 1986 and extended in 1992 with social rooms. In addition to a complete energy modernisation, equipment is now being purchased.

Local businesses do the work

According to the announcement published in the EU Public Procurement Bulletin announcement published in the EU Public Procurement Bulletin, the construction will be carried out by the well-known Transdanubian company VEMÉV-SZER Ltd. and the Veszprém-based Diorit Partner Kft. consortium. The contract has already been signed, has entered into force, and the planning process has begun, according to our newspaper.
