Multigenerational sports and leisure park for the residents of the Danube town

In two phases, the old football pitch in Nyergesújfalu has been given a new function. The municipality used EU funding to build a new community space. The investment was aimed at creating a multi-generational playground, a fitness park and an outdoor stage with service facilities.

The construction was carried out in two phases, the first phase was carried out by KERT-MÍVES 2004 Kft.. An irrigation system was installed, a walkway was built, the area was landscaped and toys were installed. The next phase of the park development was carried out by EXTREME PARK Kft..

Schools and kindergartens in the municipality were also involved in the works

The municipality spent almost HUF 200 million on the investment. Annamária Lőrinczy, the project manager of the county's regional development organisation, told MTI that native plants were planted on the disused area, which was covered with old turf, and an elliptical walkway was created.

In addition to traditional benches, modern street furniture and sun loungers have been installed. A fitness park and a ball court have been created for those looking for active recreation. An outdoor stage has also been completed next to the park.

The city's kindergartens and schools were also involved in the creation of the new community space. The children helped with planting and will be involved in the maintenance and upkeep of the park.
