The rehabilitation area of Ferencváros is constantly changing. Typically, old apartment buildings, often in poor technical condition, are demolished to make way for new ones. However, there are also excellent examples where old apartment buildings have many assets that can be saved not only to preserve the streetscape, but also to make it economical to renovate them instead of demolishing them. The transformation and extension of the Gát utca 24-26. owned by the Ferencváros Municipality is a good example of this effort.

This was recently achieved with the Épkar Zrt. work, the apartment building on Gát Street has been transformed into a landmark with a reconstructed façade. ceremonial handover.

The eclectic building, commissioned by FEV IX Zrt., will provide 27 apartments and 2 offices as a result of the block rehabilitation. Fully renovated, bright apartments are now available to the municipality in the renewed building, where the demolition of the courtyard wings has allowed the Épkar staff to create a valuable courtyard. Following the complete replacement of the building's end slab and roof structure, the roof space was also incorporated, while carefully preserving the distinctive features and design of the street façade. In addition to the complete architectural, mechanical and electrical renovation, a lift was installed.

The block rehabilitation programme in Ferencváros, which has been ongoing for more than 3 decades, does not end here. After the renovation of the staircase, the planning of the complete reconstruction of the residential buildings at 25 Gát utca and the adjacent Gát u. 23. This means that in about two years' time, two more buildings will be able to match the standard of the new building.
