What is being built?
The modernised Vertikál Group plant in Dombóvár was inaugurated
The plant of Vertikál Group Nyrt. in Dombóvár, where a HUF 2.5 billion development has been implemented with the support of the Operational Programme for the Economy and Innovation Plus (OPERP Plus), worth HUF 1.115 billion, was inaugurated on 6 June, the plastics and environmental management company said. The aim of the development was to reduce the amount of plastic raw materials purchased and to make greater use of recycled materials produced using in-house technology, the company said in a statement.
The plant has undergone a 4580 square metre conversion, which has changed the function of the buildings. A 377-kilowatt, high-efficiency, hybrid solar PV system was installed on the properties, providing renewable energy to meet the energy needs of production and buildings within the plant, a savings of 40 percent.
The Vertikál has been developed to collect and recycle materials, much of which would be disposed of without recovery and would have a significant environmental impact if disposed of. The project is said to enable the company to be among the first in the domestic waste management market to implement the concept of circular economy.
Two million plastic parts produced every year
As part of the project, three injection moulding machines have been added to the company's machine park, reducing the cycle time of the production technology by at least 20 percent, which reduces the unit costs of the products. The company produces around two million pieces of industrial and residential, premium and household plastic parts per year.
As of 1 July 2023, the company will provide services to more than one million inhabitants in five regions and more than 300 municipalities, in partnership with MOHU MOL Hulladékgazdálkodási Zrt.. The group employs 487 people, and the number of employees at the Dombóvár plant has increased from 46 to 100. The nyrt. had net sales of HUF 7.4 billion in 2022 and HUF 12.5 billion in 2023, with HUF 765 million in 2023 after-tax profit being transferred to the "profit and loss reserve in line with growth targets".
