Practical guides to support the construction industry’s transition to carbon neutrality
New technical resources relating to the Zero Carbon Roadmap are available and can be downloaded from the HuGBC pagel, which assist construction product manufacturers and facility operators in taking their first steps on the path to decarbonisation. In addition to clarifying terminology, the guide also provides practical support, for example on how to start measuring a company’s carbon footprint.
In autumn 2024, HuGBC published its Zero Carbon Roadmap, which supports the industry in achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
They are providing step-by-step support for the preparations
The first practical guides of the Zero Carbon Roadmap provide clear, accessible guidance to help stakeholders in the construction sector prepare for carbon-neutral operations. The HuGBC ESG working group has compiled professional materials that support sector players not through a theoretical approach, but through concrete steps. The publication summarises changes in the regulatory environment in an accessible way and also discusses how companies can gain a competitive advantage from these processes.
The first publications are aimed at two key target groups
The first two instalments of the „How to get started…” series are now available: one is aimed at manufacturers of construction products, and the other at facility operators. The aim of these publications is to ensure that ESG considerations, data collection tasks and emission reduction measures are integrated into the construction industry as practical business processes.
Climate-conscious operations are becoming more tangible
The guides relating to the Zero Carbon Roadmap summarise the initial tasks and decision points that enable stakeholders to lay the foundations for carbon-neutral operations. The technical materials under reference HuGBC thus bring the requirements of the climate-conscious transition within reach of the construction, manufacturing and operations sectors.
