Preparations for a comprehensive railway development project can now begin on the section of railway line No. 110 between Debrecen, Apafa and Mátészalka. The design work involves, among other things, the modernisation of approximately 70 kilometres of single-track railway line.

The bid submitted by Kontúr Csoport Kft. was assessed as the most favourable in the public procurement procedure. According to the notice states that the company is to design the modernisation of an approximately 70 km long, single-track railway line on the Debrecen–Apafa–Mátészalka section of railway line No. 110. Preparations are being made to upgrade the track to a speed of 100–120 km/h, together with the modernisation of the overhead line network.

Preparations are also underway for the refurbishment of stations and stops

The winning designer’s remit will not be limited to redesigning the railway track: the contract also covers the stations and stops concerned, as well as signalling equipment, roads, engineering structures, utilities and other facilities.
The following are affected along this section of the line: Dombostanya stop; Hajdúsámson railway station; Tamásipuszta halt; Tisztavíz halt (halt discontinued by MÁV-START Zrt.); Aradványpuszta halt; Nyíradony railway station; Nyírmihálydi halt; Nyírgelse railway station; Nyírbogát halt; Nyírbátor railway station; Nyírcsászári halt; Hodász railway station; Nyírmeggyes halt; Mátészalka railway station.

One step closer to launching the construction tender

The designer must prepare a feasibility study, planning permission and construction drawings, ensure that building permits are obtained, and compile tender documentation suitable for conducting the public procurement procedure for the construction works.
An important technical aspect of the project is that the design for planning permission and construction is carried out on a BIM basis. The digital model must cover the entire design area between the start and end profiles, encompassing all relevant disciplines, the railway track, associated facilities and structural elements.
