Work starts on another bridge in the Eger-Szilvasvarad road upgrade

According to announcement Magyar Közút Nonprofit Zrt., in addition to traffic restrictions, bridge renovation work will begin near Szarvaskő on Tuesday. As part of the project, in addition to road works, height adjustment works will be carried out at three crossings by the experts of HE-DO working on the construction.

Widening the roads under bridges

On the section of the main road 25 affected by the works, the main road is crossed by the railway line 87 at three separate levels. At the beginning of June, HE-DO specialists started work on deepening the roads under the railway bridges to ensure that trucks can pass under them. Work on two of the bridges will be completed shortly, while the third will see the arrival of the machines on 9 July. 

Bus stops will also be renewed

In connection with the road renovation, the bridges and the wearing course of all bus stops on this section will also be replaced. In the vicinity of the railway bridges, new culverts will be built on the sections where the track level is lowered, and a drainage system will also be installed. These tasks will be carried out with the assistance of KM Építő Kft. .

Construction could be completed by mid-August

 The project is designed to be completed before the start of school in the autumn. It is expected that the new road sections will be open to traffic by mid-August without any restrictions.
In the meantime, to avoid major congestion, it is suggested that those travelling via the Egerbakta-Bátor-Szúcs-Egercsehi settlements should take the alternative route.
