Parts for Mercedes are made in the newly completed factory in Kecskemét
The new automotive production hall ZF Chassis Modules Hungary Kft. of the German technology group ZF was inaugurated on Thursday in Kecskemét, said the project manager of the project.
The production hall uses environmentally friendly technology to make axle modules for Mercedes. According to the information, the construction of the new production hall, which covers more than 16,000 square metres, cost 14.6 million euros - approximately 5.8 billion forints.
The plant's production area is used to manufacture front and rear axle modules for electric vehicles, fully automated. The production process has no local carbon emissions and the building is heated by electric heat pumps.
The factory will create more than 450 new jobs in Kecskemét.
The plant developed by Panattoni Hungary was a joint investment of the Kecskemét Urban Development Fund and the Kecskemét Enterprise Development Fund, managed by KEPI and Városi Alapkezelő Zrt.. It was the intention of the local government to support Mercedes' expansion strategy in this way, according to the press release.
