It is now possible to skate on the largest ice rink system on the Balaton shore, where the footbridge was built with the PERI UP system.

On 6 December, the ice rink in Balatonfüred will reopen, but a day before Santa Claus on 5 December, from 17:00, you can try the ice. In addition to a number of innovations, a new footbridge has been built on the ice rink, which will allow spectators to get to the shores of Lake Balaton from above the rink more comfortably this year, while also giving them a view of the action on the ice from above. According to witnesses, Santa Claus crossed the pedestrian bridge for the first time this year," according to a statement sent to this newspaper.

The 3,600-square-metre ice rink, with a one-kilometre-long corridor, spanning the rinks on Zákonyi Street, Vitorlás Square and Tagore Promenade, is preparing for a number of events this year. A new feature is the free 110 square metre ice rink for young children on Vitorlás Square, which will also be used for various sports events and programmes.

The Jégpályatechnika Kft. ice rink builder, using the PERI UP Public system, built a new footbridge for the public that is suitable for the weather and intensive use, offering an excellent view of the rink. The new bridge, built next to the fountain on Zákonyi Street, also makes it easier for visitors arriving from the city to reach the shores of Lake Balaton, which are resplendent in their winter finery.

A bridge built to all specifications on sloping ground

One of the biggest challenges during the construction was that the bridge had to be built on a sloping terrain, but thanks to the flexibility of the scaffolding system used, a safe, stable and clean solution was found, adapted to the terrain. The new structure, which includes the 8-metre bridge, meets the strict requirements for mass events.

The grandstand was built with the PERI UP Public modular stand system, specifically designed for community use, to create temporary stairs, bleachers and footbridges. The stable system has the advantage of making optimum use of the available space and, thanks to its lightweight modular elements, can be quickly and easily installed and dismantled to suit the needs of different events.

The PERI UP Public system, which meets the requirements of community applications, was built in cooperation with Látvány-Állvány Kft. in cooperation with PERI Kft.
