Another crèche to be built in the south-western agglomeration

Érd's third municipal nursery could be built in a green belt of gardens and small streets. The investment, which has been planned for years, is much needed, as the expansion of the originally planned 54 places to 84 shows.

Garden city atmosphere

There are currently two municipal nurseries operating in Érd, and there is a significant shortage of places. Recognising this, the city's leadership successfully applied for 827 million forints from the EU Recovery Fund in 2022, and in January this year, the contractor that won the tender announced that the contractor, Épkar Zrt., had been selected and work could begin.

The new 750-square-metre nursery, which will be built on a nearly 4,000-square-metre plot of land on Rye Street, will have up to 84 children in its six classrooms.

The building will be located on a corner plot at the intersection of two small streets in a garden city setting, and will be barrier-free, with 18 parking spaces and a 12-space bicycle storage area. The nursery rooms will all have covered terraces, and the children will be catered for by a modern hot kitchen.

They take care of the necessary equipment

In addition to the construction of the building and the playground, the project also includes the purchase of equipment and facilities necessary for the operation of the nursery. This will enable the municipality's new facility to provide a truly high-quality crèche service.

Erd's new day nursery was designed with energy efficiency in mind, as well as the principle of "Do no significant harm". This is reflected in the building's modest height and the way in which it is sited in the landscape.

This development will significantly increase the number of crèche places in the city, which is a priority as a conurbation, as many families with young children live in Érd. The living conditions of these families could be significantly improved by the investment, which could even pull up the other service providers in the area.
