Kindergarten expansion to support families moving into the Buda agglomeration

In 2022, the local government of Pilisborosjenő rebuilt and expanded its nursery school with approximately 700 million forints in funding from grant in 2022. The contractor began work on the development of the Mesevölgy Nursery School in August 2023, based on the plans of Tibor Várady (UV Design Kft.) Épkar Zrt.. Less than two years later, in April 2025, the institution was handed over to the children and staff.

More and more children

On 4 April, at the inauguration ceremony of the new wing of the kindergarten, Mayor Balázs Tömöri highlighted in his speech:

"Thanks to the CSOK grant and the traces of rural character that can still be found in many places, our municipality is mainly populated by families with young children, and therefore there is an increasing need for nursery school places for children"

While in 2020 the number of 3-5 year olds in the municipality was 117, by 2024 this number will have increased to 185. Three major developments are currently underway around the old village, including one that is just starting. This expansion is therefore intended to provide a sufficient number of places and a decent environment for families with young children moving to Pilisborosjenő.

The cooking kitchen was also adapted to the number of people

72 new nursery places were created by the Épkar staff with the construction of three new classrooms; but also the construction of the corresponding service rooms with all the equipment and facilities needed for their operation. The project also included the creation of additional parking spaces in front of the new part of the building, while a small bathroom block was added to the sleeping gallery in the former nursery classrooms, which was used for afternoon naps.

The children and caregivers will also benefit from the courtyard toilet block, which means that children will not have to bypass the building to use the indoor toilets.

The hot meals for the little ones have been provided from the kitchen in the building at 41 Main Street, whose capacity has now been increased from 200 to 300 meals per day. The extension and modernisation of the kitchen will allow for the preparation of more modern, healthier meals, better reorganisation of processes and more efficient kitchen work, in addition to catering for the growing number of children.
