The official opening ceremony of the new sports hall of the Baja Women's Basketball Club, built at a cost of one billion forints, was held on 8 May at 11 a.m. The hall will be used for the team's training sessions and matches, as well as for physical education classes. As revealed in the association's previous Facebook post revealed, the contractor was ÉPREMA Kft., also based in Baja.

At the inauguration ceremony, Gábor Nagypál, President of the Baja Women's Basketball Club said that the completed hall is not just a building, but a place where young people can find the joy of movement, where the values of teamwork and sportsmanship are formed, where lifelong friendships are born and where their sense of belonging is strengthened.

 

New building for a registered youth training centre

He recalled that over the years, the club has become one of the most prominent youth sports clubs in the country, with nearly 160 children playing active and regular sports. As one of the most successful clubs in Bács-Kiskun County, they have won seven age-group championships and are considered one of the ten best youth training workshops in the country, he said.

Adám Schmidt, Minister of State for Sport of the Ministry of Defence said at the presentation ceremony that the spectacular team sports support programme was created to ensure the conditions for youth education: young people can play sports in appropriate conditions.
