The Nógrád county school is expanding with a gymnasium

The Petőfi Sándor Elementary School in Érsekvadkert will be expanded with a gymnasium by the Balassagyarmat School District Centre; the European Union will provide the money for the investment, 1.377 billion forints, the Nógrád County School District Centre informed on Tuesday. The consortium partner of the Balassagyarmati Tankerregeti Központ is Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium, the press release said.

The new facility will be built in the schoolyard. The two-storey building will house a fighting area suitable for international competitions and a handball court with the necessary service facilities. On the upper floor, there will be bleachers, changing rooms, a doctor's surgery and teachers' rooms.

The new gymnasium will be used by the school's students during school hours and by the residents of the municipality. The project will be completed by the end of April 2028.
