New school building opened in a town of less than a thousand inhabitants

The completion of the new gymnasium of the German Nationality Language Teaching Primary School in Bakonynana, built with government funding of HUF 617 million, was celebrated with an official event on Tuesday.

Adrienn Bierbaum, President of the German National Council of Bakonynana, the investor, said,

The gymnasium, which covers more than 600 square metres, has a 350-square-metre competition area and a gallery, and is suitable for physical education classes, sporting events and cultural events. As can be seen from the public procurement data , the work was carried out by VeszprémBer Építő Kft..

Miklós Soltész, Minister of State responsible for national minority relations, among other things, said in the settlement in Veszprém county: this year, one hundred national minority self-government institutions have been renovated or renewed with more than six billion forints. According to Angéla Bognár, principal of the Bakonynána German Nationality Language Teaching Primary School, 101 pupils in eight grades are attending this school year. The total population of the settlement is 916.
