At the handover ceremony, the Minister of State for Church and Nationality Relations of the Prime Minister's Office said that in the 2025-26 school year, education will start in more than 110 nationality institutions. These institutions will educate and teach around 20,000 children, thanks to the work of 2,500 teachers.
Miklós Soltész added that renovations and expansions have been carried out in nearly 100 national minority educational and training institutions throughout the country, amounting to a total of HUF 2.8 billion.
Development and tradition go hand in hand
Ferenc Rack, the school director, told MTI that the school currently has 500 students, and after the expansion it will be able to accommodate approximately 600 children.
The new part, built next to the old eight-room school, houses 11 classrooms, a library, a workroom and a modern teacher and school administration section.
The amount of the investment realised with state support reached HUF 3.5 billion. Thanks to the extension, the institution will provide a modern educational environment for 17 primary and 2 secondary school classes from September 2025.
German nationality education has been provided in Biatorbágy since 1993, with German language teaching and the cultivation of tradition as two important pillars. The main objective of the institution is to teach the productive use of the German language and to lay the foundations for multilingualism through the preservation of tradition," the director explained.
