Rest area on the M43 motorway, preparations underway for the development of four-digit roads in Békés County

It has begun preparations for traffic safety improvements on the Magyar Közút Nonprofit Zrt. in Csongrád and Békés counties. Among other things, bids are being sought in the public procurement procedure for the design of a comprehensive renovation of the road connecting Makó and Békéscsaba.

Planning for the development of several important four-digit road sections and the M43 motorway can begin in Békés and Csongrád counties. The aim of the project is to improve the technical condition of public roads, increase traffic safety and modernise traffic conditions. The most complex task in the public procurement tender for traffic safety planning announced by Magyar Közút Nonprofit Zrt. is the preparation of plans for the Kéthalmi rest area and measuring station on the M43 motorway. Bids are also being sought for the planning of resurfacing works on three other four-digit roads.

Preparations are underway to modernise several regional roads

One of the items included in the announcement is the planning of pavement renovation for several sections of the Dévaványa–Gyomaendrőd connecting road, marked 4231. The development affects the section between kilometre markers 3+600–4+600 and 5+590–9+575. In addition to resurfacing, the drainage system must be repaired and preparations made for the renovation of the bridge on the designated section.

Modernisation of a 13-kilometre section between Gyomaendrőd and Szentes can begin

Significant work is also planned on the Gyomaendrőd–Nagyszénás–Szentes connecting road (4642), where plans must be drawn up for the modernisation of the section between kilometre markers 22+987 and 35+337. The third planning section concerns the section between kilometre markers 42+408 and 54+601 on the Békéscsaba–Makó connecting road (4432), which also aims to prepare for resurfacing works.

Truck parking area may be built along the motorway

One of the most complex elements of the tender is the design of the second phase of the M43 motorway rest area and measuring station in Kétfalu. The project includes the construction of a new road and truck parking areas, supplemented by outdoor lighting.
