Flextronics is further strengthening its presence in Zalaegerszeg. The automotive supplier is now building a new automated logistics centre. The construction work is being carried out by KÉSZ Csoport.

Flextronics is launching a capacity expansion project worth approximately 35.5 billion forints in Zalaegerszeg, which includes the construction of a new warehouse. The foundation stone for the new facility has been laid, with Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, in attendance at the event. According to the announcement, the factory development will continue with the construction of a new 11,000-square-metre logistics centre and warehouse.

This development makes the supply chain more efficient

The government is providing 8 billion forints in funding for the project. The aim of the development is to expand logistics and manufacturing support capacities, as well as to operate the company’s supply chain more efficiently. Flextronics supplies parts to the largest car manufacturers. The company’s investment has significance beyond itself; it has a dual training partnership with the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, which contributes to strengthening the competitiveness of Hungarian higher education.

KÉSZ’s involvement is not without precedent

In this latest phase of the project, the construction work is being carried out by KÉSZ Csoport. The collaboration between Flex and the construction group is not without precedent: a state-of-the-art automotive plant, also constructed by KÉSZ Csoport, was handed over in November. This involved the completion of a 10,000-square-metre building, containing an 8,000-square-metre high-cleanliness production hall.
