Energy-efficient renovation can begin at the school in Abádszalók

The infrastructural development of one of the institutions of the Karcag Tank District Centre can begin. According to information from TED, the energy-efficient renovation of the Kovács Mihály Primary School in Abádszalók will be carried out by PE-DA KER Szolgáltató és Kereskedelmi Kft. at a cost of more than 127 million forints.

The doors and windows will be replaced and accessibility improvements will also be made.

The aim of the development is to increase the energy efficiency of the institution and ensure its long-term sustainable operation. As part of this, the entire façade of the main building will be insulated with a modern, thin-coat finishing layer covering a total area of 1,706.8 m². During the modernisation, 152 new plastic windows and doors will be installed, complemented by 453 metres of internal plastic window sills. The main building will also be made barrier-free: guide strips and information boards will help to ensure safe movement.

The project may also include the „Old School” wing, where an additional 401 m² of space could be insulated. In addition, the possible improvements include the replacement of 71 windows and doors and the installation of 61.9 metres of window sills in the gymnasium wing.

The affected parts of the building have a significant usable floor area — the main building (ground floor + first floor) is more than 3,000 m², the gym wing is nearly 1,400 m², while the „old school” covers an area of almost 600 m². The modernisation will thus have a positive impact on almost the entire operation of the institution: heat retention will improve, energy consumption will decrease, and a more comfortable environment will await students and staff.
