The Vásárosnamény unit of the company manufacturing Swiss Krono OSB boards will also create new jobs with this investment.

The Swiss woodworking company is expanding its manufacturing capacity in Hungary by HUF 20 billion, with the state providing HUF 3 billion in support, thereby helping to increase the number of employees to 200, announced Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

One of the company's most modern facilities is the plant in Vásárosnamény.

Swiss Krono has production facilities in nine countries around the world. The Vásárosnamény plant is one of the Swiss company's most modern facilities, as evidenced by its extremely high added value production and approximately 70 per cent export share. According to the minister, the current investment fits perfectly with Hungary's wood industry strategy, which is characterised by sustainable raw material utilisation, energy efficiency and high added-value processing.

The modern production plant was built on the site of a closed woodworking company.

Ten years ago, the Swiss-owned company built a £30 billion OSB board manufacturing plant in the town of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County. During the 2015-2016 implementation period, Weinberg "93 Kft. contributed to the establishment of the plant as the general contractor and by manufacturing and assembling more than 2,000 tonnes of steel structures. In an earlier Engineer of the Month interview with him reveals interesting details about Europe's fastest-built OSB board factory. The factory was established on the site of the Interspan Faipari Kft. plant, which closed in 2011. Over the past decade, the company has expanded not only its production capacity but also its workforce through developments.
