WHB may implement the Public Bodies House project

In a statement sent to MTI, the Hungarian Academy of Arts writes: the design and construction contract for the Public Institutions Building on the site of the Hungarian Architecture Centre and Museum on 2 December at the MMA office building.

The MMA Secretariat and WEST HUNGÁRIA BAU Construction Service Provider Kft. (WHB) was signed by Attila Turi, President of the Hungarian Academy of Arts, and Gábor Richly, Secretary General, on behalf of the Hungarian Academy of Arts, and by Attila Paár, founding owner of WHB, on behalf of the contractor.

According to the announcement, the signing marks another milestone in the Hungarian Architecture Centre and Museum project, which consists of several elements: the current contract is for the conversion of an existing building, but the overall, ultimate goal is to realise the Hungarian Architecture Centre and Museum complex next to the Walter Rózsi villa. As part of its professional and social role, the MMA offers accommodation in the House of Public Bodies to the professional bodies that are planning to move in. The House of Public Bodies is a new opportunity that will increase the number of architectural intellectual workshops, according to the information.

The MMA, as the owner of building No. 7 in the former BM hospital complex, aims to house the Hungarian Chamber of Architects, the Budapest Chamber of Architects, the Hungarian Chamber of Engineers and the Budapest and Pest County Chamber of Engineers here. The reconstruction will take place in a historic environment, in the vicinity of the Herczel Sanatorium, the Grünwald Sanatorium, the Reformed Church and the Ráth-György Villa.
