The Airport Service Centre, covering almost 10,000 square metres, will be a new service complex, constructed by the consortium of KÉSZ Építő és Szerelő Zrt. and MERKBAU Zrt..

In the summer of 2025, we reported that Liszt Ferenc International Airport plans to develop the area around Terminal 2 to create a unified Airport Service Centre for airport operational staff.

At the end of December 2025, published the results of the public procurement procedure, according to which the construction of the office building will be carried out by KÉSZ Építő és Szerelő Zrt. and the MERKBAU Zrt. consortium can carry out the work worth EUR 26.3 million.

The nearly 10,000-square-metre office building will house offices, changing rooms and warehouses. The centre will be used by ground staff, employees of various airlines and certain organisational units of the Budapest Airport group. The general construction work also includes the development of the external areas: a recreation park will be created, access roads, parking spaces, road and utility connections will be built, and green areas will also be established.

The design is based on BIM. The investment also prioritises sustainability considerations: the tender plans were prepared on the basis of obtaining BREEAM Excellent certification, and it is the responsibility of the successful tenderer to obtain BREEAM „Excellent” certification for the building.

KÉSZ draws on its experience from several large-scale airport investments.

The KÉSZ Csoport is currently operating at the airport: during the renovation of taxiway G, new basalt concrete pavement and substructures, rainwater drains and gutters are being built on 17,000 square metres, and the visual navigation system, area lighting and lighting system are also being renewed.

The company has previously played a significant role in the airport's renovation: following the completion of SkyCourt, it carried out the renovation of Terminals T2A and T2B, and a few years later, it also performed the general construction tasks for the new T2B passenger pier. These investments have contributed to the capital city gaining an airport that is outstanding in terms of both safety technology and passenger expectations.

The KÉSZ Építő és Szerelő Zrt. also worked at one of Hungary's most important military facilities: the Hungarian Armed Forces" 59th Dezső Szentgyörgyi Air Base in Kecskemét, covering an area of 22,500 square metres, among other places. rel="noopener">worked at one of Hungary's most important military facilities: the Hungarian Armed Forces" 59th Dezső Szentgyörgyi Air Base in Kecskemét, where it established a 22,500 square metre rearming zone and de-icing station, among other things.
