The construction of the wildlife crossing on the section between Kecskemét and Szentkirály continued with almost 50 metres of main supports; on the main track, the construction of the concrete pavement started in August.

The steel main supports of a wildlife crossing have been installed on the final section of the M44 expressway, magyarepitok.hu reported. The final section of the expressway, which will make Békéscsaba accessible, is being built under the general construction project of Hódút Építő Kft..

Another bridge reaches a milestone on the westernmost section of the M44

A total of 14 structures are being built on the 32.2-kilometre stretch between the M5 motorway and Szentkirály as part of the Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium (ÉKM) investment. Most recently, we presented the road bridge of the multi-level junction being built at the intersection of the 441 and M44 motorways. where the beam was successfully lifted into place in mid-April.

This time, we report on the work on the B.049 wildlife crossing: a single-span, monolithic deck, welded steel main girder mule bridge.

We understand that the steel main girders of the bridge have been installed by Hódút Építő Kft.. The eight steel main beams, each 48 metres long and with variable beam heights, were assembled and welded on the protective asphalt of the already partially completed M44 expressway.

The next step is the implementation of the track plate

The lifting unit, consisting of two main girders, cross-ties and a lifting edge grid, weighing more than 62 tonnes, was lifted into position in pairs using a 450 tonne capacity mobile crane. The mobile crane worked at the site with a boom outreach of 16 metres at a lifting height of 25 metres.

The placement of the main pillars is not only a sight to behold, but also a testament to the 55% completion rate of the work.

Following the installation of the main supports, the construction of the track slab will begin, followed by sealing, construction of the raised kerb, earthworks and finishing works.

Construction of the concrete pavement on the trail started in August

The report also described the condition of the other 13 artefacts. According to the report, work on all bridges has started on schedule and is progressing safely. The foundations have been completed, and substructure and superstructure works are currently underway on the structures that will allow the passage of the barriers.

Similarly, the construction of the main track and the crossing roads, as well as the utilities, will be carried out according to the planned schedule:

The large earthworks are currently being completed, and in August the construction of the concrete pavement on the track from the M5 motorway started.

The contractual deadline for technical delivery is February 2025.
