Sajószentpéter and Berente can breathe a sigh of relief: the new bypass of north-eastern Hungary has been inaugurated

The road, which is nearly half a kilometre long and includes the Sajó Bridge and two roundabouts, has been named Route 260. The most significant structure on this section, the Sajó Bridge, was built by Hódút Kft., a subcontractor of the consortium. The 164-metre-long crossing was built as a three-span composite structure over the unpredictable river, using special technologies – all of which will be described in February 2023 in .

The SWIETELSKY Hungary Kft. also participated in the implementation of the investment as a subcontractor of the consortium, specifically Soltút – participated in the implementation of the investment: the company built the nearly 5-kilometre section starting 350 metres after kilometre marker 17 and extending to kilometre marker 22, 108 metres away built, including a roundabout.

The main road 26 plays an important role both domestically and internationally: in addition to connecting Miskolc-Bánréve to the Hungarian-Slovak border crossing, it also connects Miskolc with the town of Kazincbarcika.

In addition to the main road 26, the M30 section to Miskolc has been generating significant additional traffic to Slovakia in recent years, also via Banréve, and the already built Miskolc northern bypass I and II will divert traffic from the M30 motorway to Banréve away from the centre of Miskolc, on the main road 306, providing a direct link between the M30 motorway and the main road 26. The increase in freight and passenger traffic and the need to provide faster and more convenient transport justified the capacity increase and the construction of the new 2×1 lane bypass.
