Road building
An important road in Dunakeszi has been modernised, with a new surface and a junction with traffic lights installed
The long-awaited renovation of Szent István út in Dunakeszi has been completed. As part of the Magyar Közút Zrt. project, and SWIETELSKY Magyarország Kft. as the contractor, the road surface has been completely renewed, and a new junction with traffic lights has also been built.
The completion of the development was announced by Csaba Dióssi, the mayor of Dunakeszi on his social media page, highlighting that the works had been completed ahead of the contractual deadline. Following the installation of the traffic lights, the project was finally completed on 10 June and the junction was opened to traffic.

The project began with the reconstruction of the canal
In preparation for the works, sewer reconstruction sewer reconstruction took place on Szent István út with the involvement of DMRV Zrt., as part of which the sewage and drinking water pipes were replaced. The modernisation of the utility network beneath the road was an essential prerequisite for the subsequent resurfacing work, but it also entailed significant traffic restrictions.
The resurfacing work began in the spring
The actual road construction work began in March 2026. During the works, the contractors refurbished the road structure and laid a new asphalt surface.
One of the most important elements of the project was the refurbishment of the junction between Szent István út and Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Endre utca, which began in mid-April; as a result, a new LIDAR-based traffic-monitoring signal system was installed at the junction.
The Magyar Építők crew visited the roadworks in May; you can watch our video of the resurfacing work here:
