Water management
Blue infrastructure development in the metropolitan agglomeration is progressing and will soon be completed
On Thursday, a press conference and a site visit in Pomaz reported on the water management and sewerage improvements on Messelia Hill in the western part of the city, according to a press release from the municipality. The town has been awarded HUF 272.66 million in non-refundable funding under the Széchenyi Plan Plus (EU and Hungarian state funding) to improve the town's water management, including its stormwater management system, and improve its environmental status. It will also reduce the potential for damage caused by sudden or heavy rainfall.
A total of 940.42 metres of stormwater drainage infrastructure will be built on Messelia Hill in the Radnóti Street area and in Goethe Street, using technical elements such as culverts, seepage cleaning shafts and sediment traps.
Several sites are involved in the development:
- the Aulich Lajos street,
- Vécsey Károly (Knézich) Street,
- on Kiss Ernő Street,
- Ignác Török Street,
- Damjanich Street,
- Radnóti Miklós Street,
- Bem József Street,
- on Beniczky Street,
- on Goethe Street,
- in Goethe köz,
- and Gábor Áron Street.
After the stormwater drainage network has been installed, the road surface will also be restored. In addition, an underground reservoir will soon be installed on the upper part of the site to contain the water and delay its drainage, and a rain garden will be installed on the green area above.
The project is scheduled for physical completion in autumn 2024, but will be ready for the start of school in September without major technical problems
